Troopers probe crashes

Department of Public Safety state troopers responded to a pair of one-vehicle crashes Saturday in the Rockdale area.

Trooper Ernest DelBosque said a vehicle operated by Daiga Stevens, 24, flipped onto its side at 1:45 p.m. on US 77 south of Minerva.

Damages were termed moderate and the driver refused transport by AMR ambulance personnel, DelBosque said.

Another one-vehicle accident was reported at 3:45 p.m. Saturday, according to Trooper David Yarbrough.

He listed the driver as Jerry Vargas, 17. Damages were termed “moderate” and no injuries were reported.

The DPS was also called to a reported accident just before 2 p.m. Saturday on FM 487 at the Juvenile Justice Center where a vehicle lost a wheel.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
