Home gutted....

A barking family dog is credited with awakening the five members of the Ira White family, who fled their burning home at 2001 O’Kelley just before 5 a.m. Sunday. Rockdale VFD Fire Chief Herbie Vaughan said the blaze was traced to an electric pencil sharpener which was plugged in behind a couch and had been used the previous night during work on a student art project. The home was gutted. The next morning (above, R-L) mom and daughter Patsy David and Brenda Gilbert David paid a sad visit. The home was built by Frank and Richard David in 1973 and the Frank and Patsy David family lived there 11 years.  An account for the White family has been set up at Citizens National Bank.
