Town & Country Club meets in Atkins home

THORNDALE—The Thorndale Town & County Club met Feb. 23 at the home of Betty Atkins with 12 members and two guests, Dorothy Muston and Pat Oeser, attending. Bingo was played with winners receiving gifts.

Members planned a bake sale at the Thorndale Area Chamber of Commerce Car Show/Quilt Show/Arts & Crafts event on Saturday, March 24. A trip to the Country Living Fair in Austin April 27-29 was discussed.

Guest Pat Oeser demonstrated a Christmas wreath made from fringed burlap and ornaments.

Hostess Atkins showed a child’s apron made from old jeans with ruffle and ties; a baby blanket made from die-cut quilt squares; and a wine bottle cover made from a man’s shirt sleeve (cuff turned down to represent a col- lar). She also served refreshments.

Next meeting will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 8 at the Thorndale Chamber building with Betty Ballew as hostess.—Darleen Tucker, secretary
