Next ‘stash your trash’ day set for March 31st

The City of Rockdale has scheduled its spring “sta sh your trash” day for Saturday, March 31 at Fair Park.

Hours are 8 a. m. to 12- noon.

Ro ckdale resident s wi ll hav e the opp or tun ity to bring items to rollof f dumpsters at the park with city employees assisting with disposal.

Veterans of Foreig n Wars Post 6525 will hold its annua l spring barb ec ue cookof f on Saturd ay, April 14 at the post home near the west cit y limits on US 79.

, ribs and chicken cate gories and $2 for a special “DAL” (last) category.

“We have gr ouds for camping which will accommodate six campsites with water and electr icit y,” h said.

Thorndale cleanup day scheduled April 28t h

THOR NDA LE —TheCity of Thorndale has scheduled its annalk cleanup day for Apr il 28.

IESIwill conduc eits usual household trash/ bulky item pickup on April 27 and w ill ret ur n to Thorndale the next day.

According to the cit y, UESI will not pick up const ruction debris, dead animals, insecticides or pesticide, paint cans with paint and/ or lid s, le ad batt eries, tired use d mot or oil filt ers an d untagge d refr igerators and AC units.

City crew s will pick up limbs and brush if it is separated from other debr is.

Water line flushing set for March 14- 15

City of Rockdale crews will flush water lines the evenings of March 14 and 15, according to City Manager

Kelvin Knauf.

He sa id flushing will be on the east side of Rockdale Wednesxday, March 14, and the we st side on Thursday, March 15.

“Pleas e ru n you r cold wat er taps upon arising the next morning unt il the stream runs clear,” he said.

“This enables the lines to clear f rom t he ove rnight f lu sh in g,” Knauf said.
