Tigers use tournament as their gateway to winning
Already surpassed win total from last season
Relying on the old baseball staples of good pitching and better defense, the Rockdale Tigers breezed through the Georgetow n Gateway Prep Tournament unscathed to capture the championship.
With a 10- 0 thrashing of Thrall Tuesday night, the Tigers have now won six straight and are 8-4 on the year and have already surpassed their victory output from last season (7-19). Full Story
Milano-Mumford matchup strains fans allegiances
NEW BRAUNFELS—This is truly one of those situations where you hate to see anybody lose.
The Milano-Mumford matchup Saturday in the regional finals at the luxurious Cougar Den presented more dramatic possibilities than a Mexican soap opera.

Tigers’ Brooks tears ACL, is through for the season
Lady Yoe run away with third straight Relays title
Daniel Brooks’ return to Rockdale athletics was short lived as the senior tore his anterior cruciate ligament and his lateral collateral ligament in his right knee on his very first attempt in the long jump at the Rockdale Relays and will be lost for the year.
“He just landed kind of funny,” said Rockdale Athletic Director Jeff Miller. Full Story
Bulldogs open district play with big victory
Thorndale plays in Leon Tournament championship
This past weekend the Thorndale Bulldogs made it to the championship game of the Leon Tournament and ended up second after falling to No. 10 Elkhart.
The 6-4 Bulldogs also opened District 27-2A play Tuesday night with a victory over Florence.
In game one of the tournament the Bulldogs (5-4) fought back from a 5-0 deficit and picked up the 8-7 win over Centerville. Full Story
Lady Dogs continue with struggles in league play
Thorndale allows 22 runs in loss to Jarrell
The Thorndale Lady Dogs (0- 6-1, 0-2) continue to struggle in District 27-2A play as they hosted and fell to Jarrell (2-0) 22-8 in six innings on Monday evening.
Jarrell led 8-5 after two innings, but then busted the game open. The Lady Cougars put up nine points in the top of the sixth to force the run rule victory.
Bailee Hilton took the loss on the mound for the Lady Dogs. Full Story

Milano splits double-header with Somerville Tuesday
The Milano Lady Eagles (4-6-2) got their final tune up games in before district play starts with a double-header at Somerville on Tuesday night.
Milano (4-6-2) took the first game 11- 9, garnering 23 hits. They were led by Rayleigh Shaw was 4-for-4 and Emily Overall 4-for-5 in the game. Full Story

Lady Tigers over .500 for season
The Lady Tigers went 2-2 in the Taylor Tournament over the weekend, with victories coming against Class 5A Westlake and Class 4A LBJ
Kayla Deary struck the big blow in the 3-2 tournament victory over Westlake with a pair of runs batted in in the third inning after the Chaparrals jumped out 2-0 in the first inning.
