28 down, one to go in 2011 drug raid


Jackson Jackson The 28th, and next to last, suspect sought in the countywide drug sting last Oct. 17, turned himself in Thursday at the Milam County Sheriff’s Department.

Tyrone Jackson, 33, was charged with manufact ure/ delivery of a controlled substance (less than one gram) in a drug-free zone, and non-payment of child support.

He remains in custody in lieu of $10,000 bond.

Jackson was one of 29 persons sought during the 2011 drug raid which targeted locations in Rockdale and Cameron.

Only one person, Sammy Wesson of Rockdale “remains uncaptured,” according to Chief Deputy Chris White.

“He was last reported to have fled to Ohio,” White said.

RUNAWAYS—Two teens, ages 14 and 15, who were reported as runaways from the Resolution Ranch near Cameron, were recaptured Thursday afternoon off FM 2269.
