‘Guilty’ verdict returned in drug trial
CAMERON—A Milam County Jury found a Cameron man guilty of possession of a controlled substance Tuesday at the conclusion of a two-day jury trial in 20th District Court, according to Prosecutor Kerry Spears.
Kenneth Eugene Drone will be sentenced March 27 and could face up to two years in state jail, Spears said. Full Story
Three hurt in Sunday wreck
Three persons were hurt in a one-vehicle accident at 5:25 p.m. Sunday when their vehicle ran off US 77 north of Minerva.
It was one of five accidents investigated during the past week in the Rockdale area by the Department of Public Safety all of them one-vehicle. Full Story
Next Kay Theatre event March 25th
The third in a spring series of events benefitting the restoration of Rockdale’s Kay Theatre is set for 2 p.m. Sunday, March 25, at the Patterson Civic Center.

Simank, Nelms get top award in Lone Star Writing event
Mar ia h Simank and A nna Nelms, ju n ior s at Dr ippi ng Springs High School, earned first place in the 2012 Lone Star Writing Contest, co-sponsored by the Interscholastic Press League Conference and the Texas Press Association.
Simank is the daughter of Stephen and Valerie Simank of Dripping Springs and the granddaughter of Carole and Dennis Simank of the San Gabriel community. Full Story
