Fair commercial heifer tag-in set April 4

The tag-in date for the 2012 Rockdale Fair Commercial Heifer Show is scheduled for Wednesday, April 4 from 5-7 p.m. at the Arledge Feed Lot Pens on US 79 West of Rockdale. All Milam County 4-H and FFA members wishing to participate in this show are required to tag-in their heifers on this date.

This show is limited to projects owned, fed and cared for by Milam County 4-H and FFA members in good standing and under the supervision of the Agricultural Science Teachers and County Agents. Participants must be enrolled in a public or private school of less than college level for the 2011- 2012 school year and must have entered kindergarten and be a minimum of five years of age, and be in good standing with their FFA chapter or 4-H club.

Each exhibitor may tag in two to five commercial heifers. The heifers must have been brucellosis calfhood vaccinated by the tag-in date. They must have a metal calfhood vaccination tag or a legible tattoo in their ear.

All heifers must be owned and in possession of the 4-H or FFA exhibitor on and after the tag-in date and cannot be added or switched after the April 4 tag-in. The heifers must be less than two years of age at tag-in date and any heifer with eruption of adult incisors will not be allowed to be tagged in.
