Evans

Memorial services for Daniel William Evans, 61, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012, at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Rockdale with Rev. Rita Sims officiating.

Visitation is scheduled for 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Mr. Evans died Friday, March 23, in Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale.

He was born Nov. 20, 1950, in Alpine.

Mr. Evans lived in Milano for the past 13 years, moving there from Aransas Pass where he was a shrimper for 35 years, retiring in 2005.

He married San Juanita Cantu on Feb. 5, 1990, in Cameron.

Mr. Evans was preceded in death by a brother, Luther Davis.

Survivors are his wife, San Juanita Evans of Milano; four sons, Daniel Evans Jr. of Houston, Jason Evans of Milano, Toby Evans of Indiana, Daniel Evans III of Milano; five daughters, Lisa Truitt of Manvel, Kristina Richardson of Temple, Angela Cantu of Corpus Christi, Ashley Evans of Temple, Mary Lou Evans of Milano; his parents, Johnny and Mary Lou Davis of Milano; four brothers, James Evans of Beeville, Stanley Davis of Denver, Colorado, David Davis and Billy Davis, both of Milano; a sister, Johnny Lou Davis of Milano; nine grandchildren, Jonathan Evans, Adria Evans, Andrew Evans, Erin Evans, Bradlee Evans, Kayla Evans, Mark Evans, Toby Evans Jr. and Desire Evans; and two great-grandchildren, Bella Evans and Camdyn Evans.
