Funeral services for Henry G. Parker Sr., 85 were held Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with burial in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.

Mr. Parker died Thursday, March 22, in Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple.

He was born April 27, 1926, in Lee County to Robert Lee Parker and Ovalla Mae (Whiteley) Parker.

Mr. Parker was an operating engineer employed by Union Carbide in LaMarque for 35 years then moved to Rockdale. He has been a Gause resident since 2008.

Mr. Parker was a graduate of Rockdale High School and a World War II Army veteran.

He was a union representative of operations for Local 347 at Union Carbide and a member of the Master’s Gateway Church in Milano.

He married Earline Fruge on May 17, 1975, in Galveston.

Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Mary Ellen Lingo, Doris Rozell and Bessie Mae Brown.

Survivors include his wife, Earline Parker; a son, Glenn Parker and wife Diane of Dickinson; a daughter, Charmaine Murello and husband Jay of Gause; a brother, Bobby Parker and wife Vera of Mississippi; a sister, Glenda Guthrie and husband Tim of Rockdale; four grandchildren, Jayson Murello and Ashley Hughes, Jordan Parker and Trent Parker; a greatgrandchild, Jovi Hughes; and special friends, Heinz and Helga Lange of Gause.

Pallbearers were Rex Rozell, Ronny Rozell, Mike Rozell, Mark Ivins, Steve Telg and Robert Brown.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
