Relay sponsors deadline Saturday

Sponsors are being sought for the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Milam County.

Sponsorship money and forms must be received no later than Saturday, March 31.

“Securing your sponsorship for Milam County Relay For Life as soon as possible will ensure your company logo or name is on the back of the T-shirt,” Scruggs said.

‘Paint the county purple’ with Relay T-shirts

Relay For Life’s “ Paint Milam County Purple Day” will be Friday, May 4, said Kim Jeter, Relay chair. Relay volunteers are selling purple T- shir ts designed for the event. “Everyone is urged to purchase a shirt to support the American Cancer Society,” Jeter said.

T-shirts are on sale for $15 in sizes youth medium (8-10) through adult 3XL. On May 4, everyone is urged to “Paint Milam County Purple.”

T-shirts can be ordered from Jeter by calling 512-760-7194 or by emailing Tshirt orders will be accepted through Wednesday, April 11.

Proceeds support Relay For Life of Milam County which will be held at 6 p.m. May 18 at Tiger Field.

“We ask that everyone in Milam County wear purple and for businesses and residents to decorate yards, windows and whatever they can in purple to support Relay For Life,” Jeter said.

Thorndale Relay team bussing tables at cafe

THORNDALE—Relay for Life Thorndale TUFF team members are bussing tables for tips every Friday and Saturday evening in March from 6 p.m. until close at the Downtown CafĂ© on Main Street in Thorndale.

All tips placed in the tip jars on the tables will go to the team while tips for the servers should be left on the tables.

County clerk’s office displays cancer ribbons

CAMERON—The Milam County Clerk’s office will display cancer ribbons this year in the clerk’s office, 107 West Main Street in Cameron.

“These ribbons will be for anyone to purchase for a cash donation. You may put the name of a cancer survivor or a cancer angel’s name, type of cancer, or other data on the ribbon,” said Sherry Mueck, spokesperson.

“Along with the ribbons displayed we will also have a display for photographs of the survivors or angels,” she said. “Please provide our office with the pictures you would like on display.”
