Organization will serve more entities in 2012
South Milam County United Way is turning its annual goal around and heading upward.
Raymon Puente, SMCUW president told The Reporter that the organization has set a $52,000 goal for 2012, up from a $50,000 goal in 2011. Full Story

Lady Tigers foiled by late inning rally from Caldwell
The Rockdale Lady Tigers couldn’t hold on to an early lead and fell to caldwell 7-4 in District 23-3A action.
The Lady Tigers grasped a 4-1 lead heading into the fifth inning when the bottom fell out, with Caldwell (6-6, 2-2) posting three runs in the fifth and sixth inning to snag the 7-4 victory. Full Story

City building permits for month up again
March projects totaled $61,300
Things continue to look better in the Rockdale building market as $ 61,300 in building permits were issued in the month of March. It is the largest monthly total thus far for the fiscal year.
Nu mber s were up for t he month, with $47,175 in permits issued in February.
March’s numbers bring the fiscal year’s total, which started in October 2011, to $226,425. Full Story
