MCJLS raises $200,582 for area youth
Thorndale’s entries take 10 top places
CAMERON—The 2012 Milam County Junior Livestock Show raised $200,582.70 for area 4- H and FFA youths during the annual weekend event in the Youth Exposition Building.
That’s virtually the same as the $200,238.25 raised last year.
Thorndale exhibitors showed 10 of the 14 grand and reserve champions at the 2012 show.

Tax relief for property used for agricultural production
CAMERON—Milam County property owners whose land is used for agricultural production may be eligible for property tax relief on their land. Texas law allows farmers and ranchers to pay property taxes based upon the “productive value” of their land rather than on market value. Full Story
Time to sign up for 4-H camp
I t is time to sign-up for county 4-H camp at the Methodist Conference Center in Palestine. Camp dates are July 6-8. This is a great opportunity to have a fun camping experience with 4-Hers from Milam County as well as from Robertson, Navarro, Limestone, Leon, Johnson, Hill, Freestone and Falls counties. Full Story
