Pedro Villanueva Salcedo was first arrested last year in connection with assault, evading arrest and drug charges. Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a 31-yearold Rockdale man suspected of assaulting a woman, then breaking down two doors in an Alcoa Street home where she fled for safety.

Pedro Villanueva Salcedo is no stranger to police. He was also arrested last year on a variety of charges, including an incident in which a policeman was struck.

Lt. J. D. Newman said the most recent incident began Sunday morning when a man they identified as Salcedo began fighting with a girlfriend as the two drove around Rockdale streets.

“ The victim f led the vehicle and ran into the Alcoa Street home in an attempt to get away,” Newlin said.

“Her assailant pursued her and kicked down the front door to get at her,” Newlin said.

“She then ran to a bedroom and locked herself in,” Newlin said. “He then kicked that door in and began assaulting her again.”

Newlin said the family was attempting to call for her and the assailant “dragged one of the residents, a woman of about 19 or 20, through the home in an attempt to keep her from getting help.”

Newlin said the assailant then fled before police arrived and has not been captured.

Last October, Salcedo was arrested in connection with an Aug. 3 incident at the Budget Inn hotel in which police received a report of three persons assaulting an individual.

Newlin said two men f led, while a woman remained at the scene and was arrested.

He said Ofcs. S. A. Smith and Dale Bekker later found the two men and were able to arrest one but the other fled and Ofc. Smith was struck twice.

A warrant for Salcedo was issued, resulting in the October arrest.

In October, Salcedo was charged with assault causing bodily injury and evading arrest or detention on foot.

Newlin said during that arrest police found methamphetamine and filed an additional charge of possession of a controlled substance (less than two ounces) within 1,000 feet of a school zone.

Anyone knowing Salcedo’s location may call police at 446-3436 or Milam County CrimeStoppers at 1-888-697-TIPS (8477).
