Inmate charged with series of thefts

SHERIFF’S REPORT

A 36-year- old Milano man already in the county jail on separate offenses was charged during the weekend with a series of thefts.

Curtis Huddleston was charged with two counts of felony theft after Sheriff’s Investigator Chad Marek and deputies recovered two four-wheelers and a travel trailer from off County Roads 322 and 328.

Chief Deputy Chris White said Deputies James Woodward and John Mendoza were notified by the property owner that he had located a hidden four-wheeler.

“It was learned that the unit had been reported stolen from CR 330,” White said.

Later information led Marek to check a travel trailer located in the 9000 block of CR 322. “It was stolen approximately a year ago from Louisiana,” White said.

Investigators said another fourwheeler was recovered from the property off CR 328, located by the property owner the next day hidden in a separate area from the first recovery.

“We’re still trying to locate the owner,” White said.

Huddleston was jailed for aggravated assault and felony evading arrest, in connection with an incident during the last weekend of March.
