Volunteers thanked for ‘Darkness’ event

Dear editor,

I would like to thank all those who supported or attended the Milam County “Out of the Darkness” Campus walk for suicide prevention.

A special thanks to our walk committee members ( MCSP) who worked hard to make this event—with suicide prevention and teen depression awareness the goals—a great success.

Thanks to our walk chair, Pam Kaufmann with Rockdale ISD, for her dedication. Thanks to our speakers, Rev. Rita Sims, Dr. Howell Wright, Tracy Franklin, Jeff Curley and our emcee, Becky Marek, and to our youth volunteers.

Thanks to Communities in Concert Band, Cody Kaufmann and Doc Shuffield for the entertainment.
