Athletic booster club holding fund-raiser through April 19

Gause ISD Athletic Booster Club is selling tickets with prizes to be given away at the athletic sports banquet to be held in the school gym on Thursday, April 19. Prizes include a Stero Cooler, $50 Visa gift card and $25 Visa gift card. Winners need not be present to win. If you need info about purchasing the tickets you may contact Kelly Cooper at 979-587-0382, Renee Vinton at 979-255-1331 or Jessica Lewis at 979-200-1588 or you may call the school at 979- 279-5891.

Tickets are $ 1 each or si x for $5. The proceed will go to support the Gause ISD athletic program. You may also buy your tickets for the banquet by contacting any of these club officers, or at the school.

I hope all of you had a nice Easter Sunday. Our family got together at the home of daughter Kelly and Chris Cooper, Connelly and Cameron after church for a great afternoon of eating, visiting and watching the youngsters hunt Easter eggs.

Those sharing the afternoon together included Wayne and I, Renee’ and Jerry Vinton, Seth, Calla and Isaac, Ray Cass, Kristi Lee and Jaxon and Kendall Lee all from here in Gause, Desiree’ and Allen Reese, Lilly and Lucy of Thorndale, Ry and Verna Rose and Leah Lee of College Station, Sandra and Edward Dworaczjk, Marie and Buck Bakken, Bradley and Hannah of Milano.

After lunch Kelly and Brock Bordner, Cole and Cort of Robinson, Sammy and Jackie Musia of Hearne, Teri Musia and Jordan and Lance Lee of Bryan joined us for the afternoon.

Joining Wanda and Al Coats and Mildred Ely for Easter were Rebecca Coats of Harlingten, Bryce and Natalie Rasco of College Station, and her parents from Kansas, Erica and Jason Starnes of Houston, Joyce and Aamon Bailey, Sherri and James Rasco of Hearne, Chelsi and Jeremy Coldiron, Noah and McKenzie, Lois Wilkins, Melanie and Wesley Rasco, Hayden and Gracie, Jimmy and Karen Sanders and Matthew all of Gause.

Rebecca and Matthew both celebrated a birthday this past week and that was included into the celebration. Lori Coats and Kane stopped by on their way home to Br yan Sunday night after having spent their weekend in Austin with relatives. The country home of Trisha and Gary Shaw was once again the setting for the annual Garrison/ Hurt Easter Reunion held Saturday, April 7. There were 121 relatives and friends who attended the barbecue dinner, Easter egg hunt and raffle. A great time together was reported.

Then on Sunday, Trisha and Gary hosted the annual Delmo Shaw family Easter covered dish luncheon and Easter egg hunt. There were 22 family members there to share in this great time together.

Gause Junior High results for the district track meet held April 2 in Iola are as follows.

Seventh grade girls— Shot put, Keely Brown, first; 1600 relay of Kendall Lee, Presley Hur t, Jayly n Barcak, A lyssa Laine, second; 100m dash, Kendall Lee, second, Alyssa Laine, sixth; 200m dash, Kendall Lee, second; 400m dash, Christina Zeig, fourth; 1600 run, Ashley Gongora, third, Christina Zeig, sixth; long jump, Kendall Lee, first; discus, Presley Hurt, second, Jaylyn Barcak, fourth; shot put, Taylor Lange, fifth.

Eighth grade girls—100m hurdles, Keely Lagrone, first; 200m hurdles, Keely Lagrone, second; triple jump, Keely Lagrone, fifth.

Seventh grade boys—1600 relay of Chase Silvey, Nicholas Castilleja, Timothy Demerritt, Matthew Edgar, fourth; 1600 run, Carl Walker, second, Chase Silvey, third; 2400 run, Carl Walker, first; 400m dash, Timothy Demerritt, first; 800m run, Chase Silvey, third, Nicholas Castilleja, fourth.
