COMING THROUGH ROCKDALE—Union Pacific’s Living Legend No. 844 steam engine will come through Rockdale and South Milam County Tuesday morning after spending two days in Hearne, according to the Hearne Chamber of Commerce. No. 844 is scheduled to arrive in Hearne about 6:15 p.m. Sunday where a trackside party is being thrown to help Union Pacific celebrate its 150th birthday. Those attending will get a free slice of cake. Party will be held on the two-block long parking lot directly across TX6/US79 from the Dixie Cafe. The steam engine will overnight in Hearne both Sunday and Monday. At 8 a.m. Tuesday it will be pushed back to the Hearne Depot and head west through Rockdale and Taylor.
