It’s time for city wide clean up

Milano residents will get a chance to spruce things up during a city wide clean up on Saturday, April 14. Luggers will be on site at the Milano Civic Center/Fire Station. No chemicals, oil or tires will be accepted. For those living outside the city limits, charge is $25 per pickup load or $40 per trailer load.

Milano VFD Ladies Auxiliary annual Spring Garage Sale will be April 12-14. The Civic Center/ Fire Station will be open at 8 a.m. beginning Monday, April 9 for donations. However, they have plenty of storage and can accept donations now. Just call Lois Love at 512-455-7915, Carolyn Vinton at 512-429- 0364 or 979-224-0227 or Jane Yoakum at 512-446-5110.

Also, if someone wants the items left at 3 p.m. on Saturday please call and let them know.

Milano Lodge #605 AF& AM will host its 11th annual four-man scramble tourney on Saturday, April 14 at the Cameron Country Club with tee time set for 9 a.m. Proceeds will benefit the group’s scholarship fund.

Entry is $40 per person and prizes will be awarded to first through third places. A limit of four mulligans are available for $5 each.

Prizes will also be awarded for longest drive and closest to the pin. Lunch and drinks will be provided. Hole sponsorships are still available.

Milano Athletic Booster Club is hold ing t he t hird annua l Alumni Softball Tournament on Saturday, April 21. All alumni, parents of alumni or parents of current Milano students, Booster Club members and Milano faculty members are invited to play. Teams are allowed one nonalumni player. There will be full concessions available, auctions and lots of family fun.

On your way to the alumni game stop by Smokin’ Oak BBQ on US 79 for a “Walker wrap” being sold by “ Team Tammy.” This fund-raiser will be preorders only for ham and American cheese, ham and jalapeno cheese and sausage and American cheese with a max of 10 wraps per order for $4 per wrap.

There will only be a limited amount made, so get your orders in early. Forms are available at Smokin’ Oak BBQ or by contacting Jennifer Mueck, 254- 482- 0778, or Marie Bakken, 254- 718- 0133. Pre- orders are due April 13.

The Milano Athletic Banquet has been set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 3 at the high school. Each athlete will need to bring a dessert.
