Bower Bower Graveside services for Jadwiga “Jennie” Bower, 92, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2012, at

Rockdale Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Mr s. Bower died Jan. 18 in Garland due to COPD complications. She was born Aug. 8, 1919, in Massena, New York, to John and Alexandria Romanoski.

Mr s. Bower graduated from Massena Central High School in 1937.

She married Homer A. Bower of Cleveland, Ohio, on Nov. 16, 1940, in Massena, New York, at the home of her adoptive parents, Emile and Ksenia Metruck.

Mrs. Bower was a lifelong Alcoa family member through her husband of 58 years, living in Port Lavaca, Rockdale and Sao Paulo, Brazil, prior to moving to the Dallas area.

She enjoyed her family, friends, bridge club, cooking, gardening, swimming, both the Protestant and Catholic Church, along with a cup of coffee.

Mrs. Bower spoke Polish and Portuguese fluently.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Mary Podgurski; and two brothers, Jerry Metruck and Steven Dow.

Survivors are three sons, Jan, Ken and Stan Bower families of Dillon, Colorado, Forestburg and St. Louis, Missouri, respectively; two daughters, Linda Stevens of Shelburne, Massachusetts, Marilyn Pegues of Garland; a sister, Helen Sucese of Massena, New York; and a brother, John Metruck of Essex Junction, Vermont; also, seven grandsons, five granddaughters and 12 great-grandchildren.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
