Lady Tigers clinch playoffs
Trailing 5-4 heading into the seventh inning, the Rockdale Lady Tigers rallied for five runs in their last at-bat en route to a 10-7 victory over Caldwell on the road and clinched a playoff berth as well.
The Lady Tigers stand 14-9 on the season and 6-3 in District 23-3A, second behind league leader, 21-5 and 9-0 LaGrange. Full Story

Rockdale rebate check up for month, year

AUSTIN—Texas Comptroller Susan Combs sent out $488.7 million in April local sales tax allocations last week to cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose tasking districts. That is up 17 percent compared to a year ago.
Combs said that state sales tax revenue in March was $1.87 billion, up 16.9 percent compared to March 2011. Full Story
