Blood drive set Friday at RHS old gym

Rockdale High School Student Council will sponsor a blood drive at Rockdale High School on Friday, April 20.

The drive will run from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the old RHS gym. To sign up for a time or for more information, call the high school office at 512-430-6140.

The blood drive is put on by the Gulf Coast Regional Blood center and is open to anyone 16 years and older who is in good health. Please go to http://www.giveblood.org for more information about giving blood.

Milano OAP sets Sunday matinee at high school

MILANO— “To Kill A Mockingbird” will be presented by Milano High School’s One-Act Play at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 22 at the high school cafetorium, director Susan Meyer announced.

The cost is $4 for adults and $2 for senior citizens and students. There will also be a silent auction.

The group recently competed in UIL contest where they advanced all the way to area and were named alternate for the regional contest.

Rockdale ISD spring band concert announced

The a nnua l Rockda le ISD spring band concert is set for 7 p.m. Thursday, May 17 at the RHS auditorium.

The event w ill feature the Beginning Band, Junior High Band, Faculty Jazz Combo, RHS Jazz Band and RHS Big Blue Band.

Thorndale Boosters to hold banquet May 9

THORNDALE– Athletic Booster Club will hold their banquet on May 9 at the Fireman’s Hall in Thorndale, according to club President Lori Fisher. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6, followed by the awards presentation.

Advance $10 tickets may be purchased at the TISD administration office, Sassy Up Hair Salon or Rockdale Federal Credit Union-Thorndale branch.
