Kopetsky

A funeral mass for Billy W. Kopetsky, 77, was held Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale with Father Ramon Frayna officiating.

Rosary was recited Monday, April 16, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Deacon Don Sims officiating.

Mr. Kopetsky died April 14 at his home near Rockdale.

He was born in Bryan on Jan. 30, 1935, to Louis and Annie (Holubec) Kopetsky.

Mr. Kopetsky served in the U.S. Army from September 1957 to September 1959.

He married Patricia A. Schigut on May 11, 1968, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Caldwell.

Mr. Kopetsky was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale.

He worked at the potrooms for Alcoa’s Rockdale Operations and was also a rancher.

Mr. Kopetsky enjoyed watching bull riding.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, on Feb. 9, 2008; his parents; and a brother, Raymond Kopetsky.

Survivors are his brothers and sisters-in-law, E. J. and Mary Ann Schigut of Bryan, Don and Virginia Schigut of Salado, and numerous nieces, nephews, greatnieces and great-nephews, including great- niece Rylee Speakman.

Pallbearers were Lee Schigut, Terry Drummond, Paul Leopold, Gary Jackson, Rocky Freed and Lee Speakman.

Honorary pallbearers were Daniel Svrcek, Thomas Eichinger and Charles Janek.
