Reporter/Ken Esten Cooke Trailing 5-4 heading into the seventh inning, the Rockdale Lady Tigers rallied for five runs in their last at-bat en route to a 10-7 victory over Caldwell on the road and clinched a playoff berth as well.

The Lady Tigers stand 14-9 on the season and 6-3 in District 23-3A, second behind league leader, 21-5 and 9-0 LaGrange.

Rockdale closes out the season on the road at lowly Navasota (0-9).

Giddings

The Lady Tigers used six extra base hits to power past Giddings 8-3 Friday on the road.

Drake went 3-for- 5 at the plate with a double and home run producing three runs.

Designated hitter Morgan Fischer clubbed a couple of doubles that brought in three runs as well.

Rockdale kept the pressure on Giddings (9-9, 5-3) throughout, leading 4-1 after three innings and adding on four in the final two innings to break open a close game.

Montelongo (12- 9) allowed just three hits, while walking five and striking out three.
