TWO DEAD IN 'MURDER, SUICIDE'
Milam County Sheriff David Greene said Lindsay Ferrill of Katy was pronounced dead at the scene, a home on a gated road off County Road 346, just after the 10:30 a.m. incident. Justin Patronella, 25, of Houston, was flown to St. Joseph's Hospital, Bryan, by medical helicopter, where he died later.
Greene said a three-year-old girl—identified as Ferrill's daughter—was inside the residence during the shootings but was not injured.
"All evidence at the scene indicated this was a murder-suicide," Greene said. He said Ferrill died at the scene from a single gunshot wound, while Patronella also had a single "self inflicted" gunshot wound. Ferrill was pronouned dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Andy Isaacs.
Greene, Chief Deputy Chris White, Investigator Chad Marek and Deputies Josh Clouse and Lee Dixon processed the crime scene. Greene expressed appreciation to the Milano Volunteer Fire Department, AMR paramedics and state troopers for assistance at the scene.
As a precaution, Milano schools were briefly locked down after the shootings were reported. "Although the investigation remains open, all involved persons are accounted for," Greene said.
