Teachers must report bullying
Trustees air concerns on progress in academic improvement plans
School trustees were told Monday that Rockdale ISD employees must report any incident of bullying, or related categories, under a new procedure designed to reflect state legislation.
Pam Kaufmann, assistant superintendent for instruction and administration, told board members the comprehensive new policy establishes a procedure for dealing with both victims and alleged perpetrators. Full Story

Primary early voting to begin May 14
Milam County voters should have their new, yellow voter registration cards now, as the long-awaited cards were mailed last Friday, according to Tax Collector Kolette Morgan.
Morgan wants all voters to look at the cards—long delayed by Texas’ redistricting litigation— to be sure everything is in order. Full Story
‘No bill’ ends child death case for now
A Milam County Grand Jury on Thursday returned a “no bill” (no indictment) in the overnight Jan. 6-7 death of a three-year-old girl at a Wilcox Street residence, effectively ending the case without any charges having been filed. Full Story
