‘We really don’t want to broaden our tax base’
Oh, how I love to pay my taxes. What a wonderful city we live in.
We rest assured that our property taxes will cover all our needs such as quality education for our children, the mowing of the field next to our home (abandoned lot), and we like the extra five cents a gallon city sales tax.
After all, we don’t want any new people moving here or bringing any new businesses here, because we really don’t want to broaden our tax base.
All we have to do is pay another property tax increase.
And we have a McDonalds, why would we want a Burger King? People don’t need jobs anyhow.
