St. Paul Lutheran students fair well at spelling bee
Students at St. Paul Lutheran School made “spelling history” at their area 2012 Spelling Bee held April 12 in Walburg. The group from Thorndale finished second overall and missed first place by just three points. It was the best the school has done in 20 years of competition. Full Story

Sports banquet date changed
The annual Milano High School athletic banquet date has been changed due to the success of the boys golf team which has advanced to the state tournament.
The new date of the athletic banquet is 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 17 at the high school cafeteria. All sophomore and junior athletes are asked to bring a dessert. Full Story

Area youth are on target at state shooting sports contests
Wasn’t the weekend weather beautiful. Wayne and I accompanied our Gause 4-H Club members/ grandchildren, great niece and nephew and their families to Brownwood for the State Shooting Sports Extravanza at the State 4-H Center. The wildflowers are beautiful, trees so green and the first cutting of hay was in the fields and baled. And the weather was perfect. Full Story
