Lady Eagles finish season on high note
GRANGER—The Milano Lady Eagles finished their season on a high note Friday, snagging a 9- 6 road win at Granger. The victory puts Milano at 7-13-2 on the season and 3-7 in District 27A, good enough for a fourth place finish in the league.

Eagles drop final home contest
MILANO—The Milano Eagles will finish out a season in which they’ve struggled severely after making it to the regional quarterfinals last season. They will hit the road to Holland on Friday night with first pitch set for 6 p.m.
On Monday evening, the Eagles lost their final home game of the season 11-6 to Thrall. Toby Sanders absorbed the loss, striking out five Tigers. Full Story
Bulldog netters tripped up at regional tourney
SAN MARCOS—Sam Stockton and Shelby Pausewang placed fourth at regionals on Thursday.
Stockton and Pausewang defeated Brandon Nidey and Kathryn Hamilton of Edna 4-6, 6-1, 6-2; Garrett Lee and Celina Pecos of Bishop 7-5, 6-3 before losing to Jacob Sestak and Kaitlyn Sestak of Weimar 6-1, 6-1 and Mackenzie Gideon and Lindsey Campbell of East Bernard 7-5, 6-1. Full Story

Mrs. Birch died Friday, April 20, in a Cameron nursing home.

She was born March 5, 1921, to Willie Sr. and Anna Page in Lee County, where she also attended school.
Mrs. Lee accepted Christ at an early age.

Judge Martin died Wednesday, April 18, 2012.
