Relay garage/bake sale set here Friday, Saturday
A Relay for Life garage sale and bake sale will be held Friday and Saturday, May 4- 5, at 2004 Yokley Road in Rockdale, according to Tiffany Parker, spokesperson.
“The sale will offer housewares, clothing, baked goods and more,” she said.
CNB team lists series of bake sales, BBQ events
The Relay for Life team from Citizens National Bank- Rockdale has announced the following fundraising events, all benefitting the American Cancer Society:
• Friday, May 4, bake sale in main lobby, 140 East Cameron Avenue, Rockdale, 9 a. m. until sold out.
• Saturday, May 12, Barbecue in Rockdale in the old Walmart parking lot, 9 a.m. until sold out.
‘Paint the county purple’ Friday in Milam County
Relay For Life’s “ Paint Milam County Purple Day” will be Friday, May 4, said Kim Jeter, Relay chair. Relay volunteers are selling purple T- shir ts designed for the event. “Everyone is urged to purchase a shirt to support the American Cancer Society,” Jeter said.
Proceeds support Relay For Life of Milam County which will be held at 6 p.m. May 18 at Tiger Field.
“We ask that everyone in Milam County wear purple and for businesses and residents to decorate yards, windows and whatever they can in purple to support Relay For Life,” Jeter said.
‘Team Tammy’ sets ‘Purple Party’ Friday
MILANO—Team Tammy will host a “Purple Party” at Nat’s in Milano on Friday, May 4 to coincide with the “Paint the County Purple Day,” team captain Jennifer Mueck announced.
Doors will open at 7 p.m. with cover by donation. “Wear purple and get a special gif t,” Mueck said.
A live auction will begin at 8 p.m., followed by music by DJ Kenny. The night with also include a 50/ 50 drawing..

Sunday Zumba party to benefit Milam Relay
CAMERON—”Zumba— A Party for a Cause” for Relay For Life team Stomp- a- Lump- Agus, will be held Sunday, May 6 in the Yoe High School Cafeteria in Cameron from 2 until 4 p.m.
“It will be lots of fun and it is for a great cause so the more participants the merrier,” said Cindy Leonard, publicist.
County clerk’s office displays cancer ribbons
CAMERON—The Milam County Clerk’s office is displaying cancer ribbons in the clerk’s office, 107 West Main Street in Cameron.
“These ribbons are for anyone to purchase for a cash donation. You may put the name of a cancer survivor or a cancer angel’s name, type of cancer, or other data on the ribbon,” said Sherr y Mueck, spokesperson.
“Along with the ribbons displayed we also have a display for photographs of the survivors or angels,” she said. “Please provide our office with the pictures you would like on display.”
