Driver linked to abduction of teen nabbed near Rockdale
16-year-old freed in Dallas area, taken from Minnesota last year
A 16-year-old Minnesota girl was located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex last week after a man accused of abducting her in December was stopped on a traffic offense near Rockdale.
Kristopher Lance Crawford, 28, of Grand Prairie is being transferred to St. Paul, Minnesota, to face charges of deprivation of parental rights and contempt of court. Full Story

Police serve drug warrant, find more narcotics, file two charges
Rockdale police went to serve a drug warrant on a 57-year-old Rockdale man last Wednesday, found additional narcotics and made an arrest on two charges instead of one.
Lt. J. D. Newlin said Ofc. David Wright went to serve a warrant for possession of a controlled substance on Simon Alexander Shuman, as the result of a previous case investigated by Ofc. Adam Assaker. Full Story

The RDA has extended the deadline on its Downtown Rockdale Opinion Survey from May 1 to May 28.
Chris Dyess, RDA president, said the deadline has been extended to “get as much feedback as possible” from the community.
