RMH auxiliary cookie, cookbook sale set Friday

Richards Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will hold its annual cookbook and cookie sale at the hospital and will be going out into the community Friday, May 11, president Jodi Manning announced. The sales will start about 9 a.m.

Cookbooks are $15 each and Auxiliary members will also be selling a wide array of cookies, breads and pies, Manning said.

Masons fish fry fund-raiser Saturday

Rockdale Masonic Lodge 414 AF&AM will hold its annual fish fry fund-raiser Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the lodge building just off US 77 north.

Plates are priced at $8, dine-in or take-out. Tickets are available from any lodge member and at Bob’s Speedy Lube. For more information call Bob Stephens, 446-3993.

BBQ fund-raiser ahead on Saturday

THORNDALE— The Thorndale ‘Dawgs 12U Pony Baseball Team is sponsoring a barbecue-by-the-pound fund-raiser Saturday, May 12. Pick up starts at 8 a.m. at Steve Rieger Park, 502 E. Umlang, in Thorndale.

Brisket and Boston Butt will be sold for $9 a pound and can be purchased whole, by the half, or by the pound. Sausage will be available for $8 a pound.

Cameron Dewberry Fest set for Saturday, May 19

CAMERON— Cameron will hold its annual Dewberr y Festival on Saturday, May 19, according to P.J. Jennings, Chamber manager. Events include a cobbler and cake bake-off, bicycle decorating contest/parade, pet parade, Dewberry Dash 5K run/ walk, classic car show, food booths, arts/crafts show, youth fishing tournament, horseshoe tournament, farmer’s market, entertainment and more. Grief support meetings held twice monthly

CAMERON—Standards Hospice is holding Grief Support Group meetings from 5 to 6 p.m. each second and fourth Thursdays, according to Greg Nichols, bereavement coordinator.

Sunshine quilters to meet on May 24

Sunshine ‘n Shadows Quilt Guild will meet at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, May 24 in the Meadowbrook Baptist Church fellowship hall. “We’ll be helping each other with projects so bring a lunch,” said Eddie Davidson, publicist. “Visitors are welcome,” she added.
