Rockdale MDD ‘Community vision’ meeting set May 24

“D o you know what my favorite part of the game is? The opportunity to play.”—-Mike Singletary

The opportunity to play the game of life is so often taken for granted. Yet, we are truly blessed to get that chance. I would hope that we all take a moment to be thankful for that chance and play the game of life the best we can each and every day.

I also hope that all of the mothers of Rockdale had a great day with their families and if you weren’t told how important you are—take note—we couldn’t make it without you.

DEWBERRY FESTIVAL— Cameron will be having its annual Cameron Dewberry Festival on Saturday, May 19. The event will be at Wilson-Ledbetter Park in Cameron. They will have a Dewberry 5K, youth fishing tournament, bicycle parade and decorating contest, pet parade, car show, farmer’s market, home and garden show, horseshoe tournament, cake and cobbler bake-off, local entertainment, craft and food vendors and much, much more.

OUTDOOR EXPO—The Chamber is gearing up for its second annual Central Texas Hunting and Outdoor Expo which will be held Sept. 21-22. We are so excited that our feature band this year will be the famous, “Little Texas”. You will not want to miss this event.

We are taking applications for vendors and barbecue teams. So get your spot asap. I will also be coming to see many of my business owners for sponsorships. We expect huge crowds so I know we are all looking forward to that.

I hope you all have a great week.
