Knight scholarship volleyball tournament set Saturday
T he Knight Family will host the f irst annual K night
Family Scholarship Alumni Volleyball Tournament for women this weekend. The tournament will be held Saturday, May 19 the Milano Elementary gym and is open to all women in the community.
Cost of the event is $20 per participant and forms are available at www.milanoisd.net. Registration will be open on Saturday from 9-9:30 a.m. The tournament will begin at 10 a.m. Teams will be randomly pooled on the day of the event.

Milano High School athletic banquet will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 17 at the high school cafeteria. All sophomore and junior athletes are asked to bring a dessert.
Milano First Baptist Church will host evangelist Dennis Erwin and family for a revival May 20-23. The morning service on May 20 will start at 11, with the evening services set for 6 p.m. For more information call 512-455-2281.
Awards day at Milano Elementary will be held Wednesday, May 23. Kindergarten through second grade awards w ill be handed out at 9 a.m. with awards for third through fifth grade to begin at 10 a.m.
Congratualations to John Jentsch and Hunter Gage for being named valedictorian and salutatorian of the MHS Class of 2012. They will each deliver a speech during commencement ceremonies set for 8 p.m. Friday, May 25 at Pruett Field.
John is the son of Craig and Holly Jentsch. Hunter is the daugther of Jeff and Terry Noack and Rodney and Kim Gage.
Eighth grade top graduates have also been announced. Valedictorian is Christian Grimes, son of Johnny and Jennifer Grimes. Salutatorian is Wyatt Beard, son of Johnny and Virginia Beard. Their promotion ceremonies are set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24 on the football field as well.
The date has been set for the annual Milano Ex-Students Association reunion. The event and meal will be held Saturday, Sept. 15 at Milano High School. A catered meal will be served at noon.

Milano ISD is looking for input to help fill the superintendent position. A “Superintendent Questionnaire” is available on the school’s website (www.milanoisd.net). You can email it or turn it in to any campus office or the administration office no later than May 25.
