Town & Country Club meets in Tucker home

THORNDALE—Town & Countr y Club met in the home of Lanette Tucker on May 10 with 14 members and two guests, Betty Benton of Taylor and Eva Strong of Rockdale, attending.

Also attending was Life Member Allene Paris of Rockdale. Bingo was played with winners receiving prizes. Cards were sent to the family of Sue Davis, and also to member Melba Caffey and Wayne Luker on their wedding.

Members were thanked for their Relay for Life Silent Auction donation.

Lanet te Tucker demonstrated quilted table runners, a sun hat she had decorated with flowers, a cat made from a soda bottle, and also crafts made by members in the early years of the club. She also showed a wall hanging which she quilted and appliqueed in rose and black print. She served sandwiches, chips, dips, cakes and pie, and flavored teas.

Next meeting will be Thursday, May 24, at the home of Laura Locklin in the Salty community.—Darleen Tucker, secretary
