‘Vision’ meeting this Thursday at Patterson Center

“I magination is more important than knowledge. For while knowledge defines all we currently know and understand, imagination points to all we might yet discover and create.—Albert Einstein

Imagination is a very powerful thing. This week we will be having our “Community Vision Meeting.” This is the perfect opportunity for all of us to “imagine” how we would like to see our community in ten years. We need everyone’s input and I appreciate all of you who will be there.

The Rockdale Municipal Development District and its executive director Tom Mansky have scheduled the Community Vision Meeting. The meeting will take place on Thursday, May 24 at the Patterson Civic Center. Tom Stellman, President and CEO with TIP Strategies will facilitate the meeting. Tom and TIP Strategies are nationally and internationally recognized in the field of Economic Development.

Doors will open at 5 p.m. with food and beverages being served. The Visioning Exercise will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will continue until at least 8 p.m. Representative from Halff Associates, the group performing the downtown master plan, will also be on hand to participate.

If you are a business or an individual who is not a member of the chamber but would like to be, please call me at 512- 446-2030 and let me show you the benefits of being a chamber member.

JUNE MIXER—The Chamber will be having its June mixer from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 14 at Manor Oaks. Please come and socialize with all your fellow chamber members.

OUTDOOR EXPO—The Chamber is gearing up for its second annual Central Texas Hunting and Outdoor Expo which will be held Sept. 21-22. We are so excited that our feature band this year will be the famous, “Little Texas”. You will not want to miss this event.

We are taking applications for vendors and barbecue teams. So get your spot as soon as possible. I will also be coming to see many of my business owners for sponsorships. We expect huge crowds so I know we are all looking forward to that.

I hope you all have a great week.
