Brinkley chosen for first-team all-district

Tigers place 10 players on allacademic team

Reporter/Bill Martin Junior Ethan Brinkley was named to the first-team of the 23-3A all-district baseball team. Reporter/Bill Martin After raising his batting average nearly 300 points from last season, Ethan Brinkley was named to the first-team of the 23-3A all-district baseball team.

Brinkley, who hit .104 last season, batted .402 and led the Tigers in hitting and runs batted in with 28 and was named as an outfielder.

The 20-14 Tigers made their first playoff appearance since 2009 before bowing out in the area round.

Senior Weston Wick of LaGrange was named the district’s most valuable player.

Senior first baseman Ty Kirk and sophomore catcher Austin Caffey were named to the second team.

Sophomore Clayton Gibbs and senior John Stewart were honorable mention
