Computer ‘worm’ generated fake e-mails
A nn Dyer of Rockdale had her computer targeted. A hacker infected her computer with a worm which invaded Ann’s e-mail addresses.
Unlike a computer virus, A worm does not need to attach itself to an existing program. Worms almost always cause at least some harm to the network, even if only by consuming bandwidth, whereas viruses almost always corrupt or modify files. Full Story
County heads for decision on indigent care
The first few months of 2012 saw our local expenditures for indigent health care run significantly over budget.
Through the end of March we had spent some $160,000, 37% over budget. This has slowed somewhat so that by the end of May spending has reached $247,000 of our budgeted $450,000 for the year. Full Story
