American Legion Carlyle Post 358 in Rockdale will hold an auction to raise money for the post building fund, spokesperson R.L. Faust announced.
The auction will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 16 at the American Legion building, located on FM 487 North.

T’dale Diamond Dawgs sets Saturday fundraiser
Thorndale Diamond Dawgs 8U Girls Coach Pitch softball team will hold a bake sale Saturday, starting at 8 a.m. at Thorndale Meat Market, according to Jami Becker, spokesperson.
They will also be selling sausage wraps and bake sale items at the red light intersection in Thorndale.

Relay For Life sets June 14 ‘wrap-up party’
Relay For Life of Milam County has scheduled its “wrap-up party” for Thursday, June 14, according to event chair Kim Jeter.
The party will be held at 6 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church fellowship hall, 303 Meadow, in Rockdale.

Matinee club hears music by Thomasons
Matinee Musical Club ended the club year with a salad supper at the home of Judy Hudson with Dixie Whitmore as co-hostess.
Following the meal, musical entertainment was provided by vocalist Sophie Thomason and pianist Elisabeth Thomason.

June 23 benefit for Diabetes Society
A benefit is planned in honor of C.W. Coldiron for the American Diabetes Society on Saturday, June 23 at Nat’s in Milano, organizer Karen Coldiron said. “Mr. Coldiron suffered from diabetes since his youth. He passed away in August, 2011 at the age of 31,” she said. Full Story
