Downey family reunion

MILANO—The annual Downey family reunion will be held Saturday, June 9 at the Milano Community Center from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

73rd LaGrone reunion

MILANO—The 73rd annual LaGrone family reunion is scheduled for Friday through Sunday, June 15-17 at the residence of Norine LaGrone.

Live music and a variety of food and games are on the schedule for one of the longest running family reunions in the state.

Friday is workers’ night with “an old-fashioned fish fry and all the ‘fixins” to be served for those who help set up, while Saturday’s ice cream social will include hamburgers and hot dogs.

Saturday night will also feature the seventh annual LaGrone Muster ceremonies.

The main reunion will begin with lunch at noon on Sunday with barbecue brisket, chicken, sausage and all the trimmings with a cornucopia of side dishes and desserts, including home made ice cream.

Basketball, volleyball, softball, horseshoes and dominoes will be played. “Come and spend Father’s Day weekend with the kinfolks,” Bill Martin, publicist, said.

RHS Class of 1941

The RHS Class of 1941 will hold its 71st reunion Saturday and Sunday, June 9-10 at the Busy Bea restaurant in Rockdale, according to Natha Lee House, spokesperson.

Classmates will gather Saturday afternoon for visiting and all friends are invited, she said. The group will dine Saturday evening and Sunday breakfast at the restaurant.

The reunion is planned in conjunction with Rockdale’s annual homecoming Sunday, June 10 at the Patterson Center.

RHS Class of 1954

The RHS Class of 1954 will hold a reunion Saturday, June 9, meeting in early afternoon at the home of Bill and Peggy Cooke, followed by a tour and evening meal at Apache Pass. The class will attend the annual Rockdale homecoming Sunday, June 10 at the Patterson Center. For more information, contact Mary Beth Rolan at Mrolan227@aol.com.

RHS Class of 1957

The RHS Class of 1957 will hold its 55th-year reunion in the Peace Lutheran Church fellowship hall on Saturday, June 9, beginning at noon with a catered meal. Visitation and fellowship will follow and friends of the class will be welcome at that time. For more information call Gary Jackson at 446-2956.

RHS Class of 1962

The RHS Class of 1962 will hold its 50th-year reunion the weekend of June 8-10. The group will meet at Apache Pass, located on FM 908 north of Rockdale, at 6 p.m. on Friday for visiting and then back there again at 4 p.m. Saturday for the reunion.

The class will then attend the annual Rockdale Homecoming at the Patterson Center on Sunday.For more information call Bennie Pounders at 446-3286.

RHS Class of 1982

The RHS Class of 1982 will hold its 30th-year reunion the weekend of RHS’ homecoming Sept. 28 - 29. Friday will be the homecoming football game for those who want to attend. On Saturday classmates will meet for brunch (location to be announced). That evening the main part of the reunion will be held at 6 p.m. at Apache Pass.

Milano Exes reunion

MILANO—The Milano Ex-Students Association reunion for 2012 will be held Saturday, Sept. 15 at Milano High School. A catered meal will be served at noon.

“This is the 50th anniversary for the class of 1962 and we would like to see 100 percent attendance from this class,” said Carolyn Hafley, reunion publicist. “Be making plans to attend,” she added. For more information call Hafley, 512-455-2473.
