After 30 years, Cass finally holes one out

Kyle Cass finally gets her holein one. Kyle Cass finally gets her holein one. MARLIN—Patience is not normally a virtue in golf, but in this instance it certainly was.

Avid Rockdale golfer Kyle Cass was playing in the Heart of Texas Tournament at Battle Lake Golf Club when she recorded what all golfers strive for, on the 85-yard, par-3, hole No. 3—a hole-in-one.

Using an 8-iron, Cass hit through a howling w ind and over a short creek when her ball bounced once and jumped in the cup.

Cass, 65, has been playing golf for more than 30 years and has been the Rockdale Country Club women’s champion several times.

Her husband Jerry had already recorded his hole-in-one several years ago.

“I’ve been trying for a long time, believe me,” Cass said. “I’ve had a lot of close calls, but it finally went in.”
