Neglected animals problem in Rockdale

Dear editor,

I am a temporary resident of Rockdale, however, my pained heart forces me to write in hopes of a solution to a lack of funding in this city for neglected animals.

Twice a transplanted Rockdale resident, this last tour has caused me great heartbreak.

Although I see a great problem with feral cats, two nearby sweet dogs have undergone horrible neglect.

Numerous times my neighbors have called in to the police and animal control referring to their neglect.

I have personally fed these dogs but, having pets of my own, I cannot afford to continue to feed them.

I have spoken to animal control, but have been informed there is no funding for neglected, abused and orphaned animals in this city.

They still remain unfed, unwatered, no immunizations, unloved and have become skin and bones.

I will soon be gone and will be forever haunted by the deterioration of these dogs, who are fenced, with no chance of survival.

I implore the residents of Rockdale to form a society of animal lovers that will raise funds and become an advocate for our furry friends.
