Congratulations to the 13 Milam County 4-Hers on an outstanding demonstration of talents and knowledge at the State 4-H Roundup in Lubbock June 11 - 15.
This is the first time in the 66 year history of State 4-H Roundup that the contests have been held off the Texas A&M University campus and over 4,000 attendees participated at the roundup held on the Texas Tech Campus. Full Story
Record books due Thursday
Remember to submit your 4-H record books by 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 21. Judging will be conducted at Bea’s Kitchen in Cameron starting at 6:30 p.m.
County council members, leaders and parents are needed to judge the record books.
Judging is a great way for parents to learn about recordbook preparation so come help and learn. Full Story

First anthrax case confirmed near Uvalde
AUSTIN—The first confirmed case of anthrax in a Texas animal for 2012 has been detected in an adult white-tailed male deer near Uvalde (Uvalde County).
At this time no domestic livestock are involved.
Anthrax is a bacterial disease caused by Bacillus anthracis, which is a naturally occurring organism with worldwide distribution, including Texas. Full Story
