Coldiron diabetes benefit, bike run set for Saturday
A benefit is planned Saturday at Nat’s for the American Diabetes Society in honor of the late C.W. Coldiron. He had suffered from diabetes since he was a child and passed away in August 2011. The fund-raiser w ill include a bike r un, live auction, horseshoe tournament, 50/50 drawing, dunking booth, a DJ dance and barbecue plates for sale.
Plates will be available for $7 in advance and $8 the day of event. They will be ready at 11:30 a.m. that day. The bike run is $20 per rider, $25 if you have a passenger. Registration starts at 9 a.m. with the first bike out at 11 a.m. The auction is set to start at 5 p.m.

The City of Milano’s annual Fourth of July parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. that day. Entries will line up at the school’s football field with the parade route making its way through the downtown area. After the parade, everyone will gather at the Milano Civic Center/ Fire Station for free hot dogs.
This is always a fun time and a great event for the family. Be sure to come to our town on July 4th for lots of red, white and blue.
The Milano Evening Lions Club is having a fruit and vegetable stand on Tuesdays and Fridays this summer from 8-11 a.m. in the lot between the Bailey Bank Building and Milano Post Office. They will be selling all kinds of local produce. Go help out this worthy organization.
The Milano Ex-Students Association reunion and luncheon will be held Saturday, Sept. 15 at Milano High School. A catered meal will be served at noon. It is also the 50th anniversary of the Class of 1962. For more information on the reunion, contact Carolyn Hafley, 512-455-2473.
Get the pom- poms ready because it’s also time for rahr ah cheer camp at Milano ISD. Young girls grades Pre- K through fifth are invited to attend the camp that runs July 12-13 at the high school gym. Cost is $30 per girl. Camp will run from 8:30-11:30 a.m. both days. Had a great time at the 73rd annual Lagrone Family Reunion. The food was plentiful and delicious as always. Lots of volleyball, dominoes and some softball were played. Tons of fishing and lots of visiting were included in the weekend as well. Hope all that attended had a fun time.
