Ashworth retires after 30 years meritorious service


Col. Ashworth Col. Ashworth CARLISLE, PA—U.S. Army Col. Eric Ashworth, son-in-law of Ramona Barlow of Rockdale, retired from military service on June 6.

Dur ing the ceremony, held at Carlisle, Pennsylvania, he was awarded his second Legion of Merit to culminate 30 years of meritorious service.

Col. Ashworth has served in numerous assignments, including overseas tours in Iraq, Korea and Germany.

His wife, Teal (Barlow) Ashworth, received the Commander’s Award for Public Service for her support to the Army over the past 25 years.

Ramona Barlow, as well as Teal’s brothers, Kevin Barlow of Houston and Kyle Barlow of Des Plaines, Illinois, attended the ceremony.

Eric and Teal plan to remain in the Carlisle area with their youngest daughter, Keara. Their two oldest children attend college, Kelsea at Kutztown University and Jared at Ohio State University.
