One treated after Friday accident
A 35-year-old Hutto woman was treated at Richards Memorial Hospital Friday morning after a tree limb came off another vehicle and truck her van.
State Trooper Broderick Sims said Brenda Keeney told him she ran off the highway after the limb struck her van, causing moderate damages.
Sims said Keeney’s six-year-old son, who was a passenger, was not injured. Full Story
Milam Jail overcrowded, ‘farms out’ male inmates to Lee County
CAMERON— Milam County Judge Dave Barkemeyer this week said the county jail has experienced overcrowding of male prisoners in recent weeks and has contracted with the Lee County Jail in Giddings to house the overflow.
Barkemeyer said the Milam Jail’s capacity is 112 for male inmates, a nd 32 for fema le inmates. Full Story

Gause man charged with providing drugs
A 35-year-old Gause man was arrested Tuesday in Brazos County and charged with providing a controlled substance, or marijuana, to underage persons in connection with a recent Rockale party.
Police said James Ward Timmerman made bond in Brazos County and was released. Full Story

‘Brown Santa’ golf ahead
The second annual Brow n Santa Golf Tourney will be held at t he C ameron C ou ntry Club July 21, according to Sheriff David Greene.
Last year’s tourney drew 94 golfers, over 50 hole sponsors and raised around $5,000 to provide Christmas gifts to 300 children in over 100 families. Full Story
