Gause man charged with providing drugs

A 35-year-old Gause man was arrested Tuesday in Brazos County and charged with providing a controlled substance, or marijuana, to underage persons in connection with a recent Rockale party.

Police said James Ward Timmerman made bond in Brazos County and was released.

Lt. J. D. Newlin said police had issued an arrest warrant for the suspect in connection with a party on Hogan Street in which 16-year-old and 17-yearold females were present and it was alleged drugs and marijuana were provided.

“We had been looking for him ever since,” Newlin said. “We had alerted area law enforcement agencies. At one point we believed he was in the Austin area and made inquiries of law enforcement personnel there. Then Tueday, he was picked up in Brazos County on our warrant.”

Newlin said he believes this is the first time the charge of “providing a controlled substance or marijuana to a minor” has been filed by police.
