Shooting death ‘self-inflicted,’ according to deputy sheriff
A Thor nd a le a re a woma n whose body was discovered Saturday morning apparently died of a self-inflicted gunshot, according to the Milam County Sheriff’s Department.
Chief Deputy Chris White said the body of Donna Sue Schwarz, 52, was found in 5800 block of County Road 455, south of Thorndale, by her husband Glenn Schwarz. Full Story

Luminant settlement also depends upon appeal of 2012 value
County naming roads in memory of Andrews, Price
CAMERON— The Milam Appraisal Distr ict (A D) and Luminant have agreed upon a settlement figure for the power company pending lawsuit over 2011 values.
But the AD’s chief appraiser still needs to sign off on Luminant’s protest of 2012 values before the Rockdale ISD and Milam County will get additional 2011 tax payments from the settlement. Full Story

Patrol car damaged in local wreck
A Milam Count y Sher if f ’s Department patrol car sustained some rear-end damage in a twovehicle accident at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in front of Dollar General in Rockdale.
According to Rockdale police, the cruiser was driven by Deputy Sheriff Zachary Burks, 29.
Other driver was listed as Miguel Guerra, 85.
