Friday chase nets warrant against New Caney teen

A chase through a business area of west central Rockdale, and several residential streets, involving police and a young couple resulted in an arrest warrant being issued against a 19-year-old New Caney woman.

Police are seeking Morgan Jackson in connection with theft and theft of service complaints.

Lt. J. D. Newlin said police were advised Brookshire Bros, manager Jerry Pulley was in the process of chasing a couple caught shoplifting.

Police joined in the chase down several city streets. During the incident they were advised the same suspects had left The Hair Company, in the strip center adjacent to Brookshire’s without paying for haircuts.

Police were able to identify Jackson, and her juvenile male companion, and obtained an arrest warrant.

ARREST—A 28- year-old Rockdale woman was arrested Saturday and charged with credit card-cebit card abuse.

Amanda Marie Bertholemey was released after posting $6,000 bond.

OFFE NSE S—Newlin said tools were reported missing from a Coulter Street location during the past week.

CITATIONS—Police issued 19 citations for speeding during the past week, along with 11 for no MVI sticker, five each for failure to maintain financial responsibility, driving without a license and running a stop sign, and one each for disregarding traffic control device, failure to report change of address or name and operating a vehicle with expired license plate.

One citation for violation of a city ordinance was issued.
