Rocha earns accounting masters from Keller

HOUSTON— Adam Rocha received a master’s in accounting and financial management on June 22 at the Stafford Center.

He earned the degree through Keller School of Management. Rocha received a double bachelor’s degree in finance and business administration from Sam Houston State Universit y in 2005, and will earn a certification of public accountancy license this fall.

Rocha is the son of Ruben Rocha of San Antonio and Yvonne Praesel Baker of College Station. He is the grandson of Arthur G. and Virginia Praesel of Rockdale.

Area residents earn degrees from SFA

NACOGDOCHES—Two area residents received their degrees from Stephen F. Austin University during recent spring commencement ceremonies.

Austin James Falke, of Thorndale, earned his master’s of science in kinesiology.

Rebekah Danielle Falke, of Thorndale, earned her bachelor’s of science in rehabilitation, rehabilitation services.

Torres on Stephen F. Austin Univ. Dean’s List

NACOGDOCHES—Sylvia Torres of Thorndale, has been named to the Dean’s List at Stephen F. Austin State University for the spring 2012 semester.

To be eligible for this honor, a student must be enrolled in 12 or more semester hours and maintain a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.

Ramthun graduates Holy Trinity Catholic HS

TEMPLE—Natasha Lauren Ramthun, daughter of Ricky and Jocelyn Ramthun of Buckholts, recently graduated from Holy Trinity Catholic High School in Temple.

She received the top engineering science student award and the St. Isidore Award for Excellence in Technology for being the top technology student over a four year period.

While attending Holy Trinity Catholic, Ramthun competed in cross country, soccer and track. She was also awarded a $750 scholarship from the Cameron 4-H Club, where she served as secretary and council delegate.

She will attend Temple College in the fall.

Ramthun is the granddaughter of Stanley J. and La Velle Glaser of Buckholts and Elton and Patricia Ramthun of Gatesville.

Project Grad taking support shirts orders

Rockdale High School’s Project Graduation 2013 group is now taking orders for the 2012-13 Tiger support shirt, according to spokesperson Debbie Brinkley.

RHS seniors need to pick up order forms from Brinkley 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday at Rockdale Building Materials Center.

Deadline for the first order is Tuesday, July 17.

Contact any RHS senior if you are interested in purchasing a support shirt, Brinkley said.

Summer lists available for AP English classes

All incoming Rockdale High School students who w ill be enrolled in Pre-AP or AP English classes w ill be expected to complete a summer reading assignment before the beginning of the 2012-13 school year, Paige Garrett, head of the English department at RHS, has announced.

Please visit the Rockdale High School website for the list of these assignments. If you would like a print copy of the assignments, they can be obtained in the RHS office.
